This means that we work closely to provide the best outcomes for all pupils in and around Uttoxeter. Headteachers’ meet each half term to follow our partnership development plan. Teachers meet termly to attend local subject updates and moderation meetings. We run our own training sessions for the newly qualified teachers in our schools and those in their second year of teaching. The strength in this approach for the local community has recently been recognised in “The Annual Report of Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Education, Children’s Services and Skills 2015/16” which states; The Uttoxeter pyramid of schools, which comprises one high school, three middle schools and 13 first schools, is becoming an increasingly important and helpful network. For example, schools in the pyramid have developed a common assessment system that they all use. They have also jointly planned their curriculum to support pupils’ transition from one school to another. Coordinated training for staff in their second year of teaching is proving effective in developing these teachers’ skills.

The exciting next step is formalising the work of the partnership by becoming a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) – Uttoxeter Learning Trust - which All Saints is part of the first cohort of schools along with Windsor Park, Thomas Alleynes, Picknalls and Hutchinson Memorial Schools. The Department of Education has accepted the application to convert and the school is now going through a period of consultation with staff and parents. If the conversion goes ahead, it will be effective from the 1st February 2017 with the second cohort of schools converting on 1st September 2017.

Please see the vision statement for the Uttoxeter Learning Trust for more information.
